The week before Christmas, International Travel Executive, Maggie Poynter, received a frantic call from a man desperately trying to secure a club suite at the Intercontinental. He’d employed the help of a leading global travel agent and close friends in the know before finally being referred to Maggie.

With trepidation, Maggie called the hotel on his behalf; no rooms available they confirmed. Maggie then thought back to all the people she’d met during her 30 years in the travel industry and her mind stopped at a friend in Washington who’d introduced her to the InterContinental’s Manager some years before.

I quick message to her friend and within 24hours a simple response; 'Done'.
